This roundtable is produced in partnership with the AEPA and reflects on a webinar with Sir Kevan Collins (Lead Non-Executive Director at the DfE). We are joined by Baroness Estelle Morris (Chair of Birmingham Education Partnership), Carole Bennett (CEO of HFL Education) and Stephen Hall (CEO of Camden Learning) to discuss the DfE priorities shared by Kevan. This content will continue to be available to be accessed by AEPA member areas across the country.
This interview, with Beth Smith of Cynefin, seeks to shed some light on why Learn Sheffield is so excited about the SenseMaker tool. It was carried out earlier this month, whilst Beth was visiting Sheffield for two days of planning and project workshops. Three of the colleagues who are working on projects which use SenseMaker (Ruth Powell, Gary Simmons & Sapphire Johnson) ask the questions and also look forward to some of the opportunities that the work will create in this academic year. In this interview, we ask Catherine Moore about the Governance & Implementation of AI School Research Report, which was published this week. It reports the findings from a year-long collaborative research project with 12 settings in Sheffield, investigating how to implement AI tools effectively in schools, and the impact on staff workload, staff confidence, and wider teaching and learning outcomes.
In this Community of Practice, we asked locality SEND leaders what advice they would offer to a new SENCO. The themes include taking care of yourself, engaging with colleagues and families, networking within and beyond school, the Code of Practice & being organised!
