This session will focus on highlighting current risks, local Safeguarding processes, resources available to schools, and advice from Ofsted. This session is aimed at both new and existing leaders and may replicate some material from earlier training sessions.

This Safer Recruitment course is designed for all staff involved in school recruitment. The course will look at the ways we can identify and deter unsuitable candidates, while embedding a strong safeguarding ethos into the culture of your school.
KCSIE 2023 states that ‘those involved with the recruitment and the employment of staff to work with children [should] have received appropriate safer recruitment training’, and schools are expected to be able to demonstrate this to Ofsted. This course is accredited by the Safer Recruitment Consortium and has been updated to take into account recent legislative changes.
This half-day workshop provides a comprehensive overview of the requirements of the Single Central Record, as well as covering in detail the required vetting checks for all adults working or volunteering in your school. It addresses a number of common misconceptions and gives delegates the opportunity to discuss learning points from recent Ofsted inspections. Though ideal for new office staff, it also serves as a helpful refresher for more experienced school administrators.
