Unlocking the evidence Supporting teachers to better engage parents in children's learningTraining

Date: 27 April 2021  Time: 16:00 - 17:00

This is a Research Led Sheffield event

Parents play a crucial role in supporting their children’s learning, and levels of parental engagement are consistently associated with better academic outcomes. Yet it can be difficult to involve all parents in ways that support children’s learning, especially if parents own experiences of school weren’t positive. This twilight session aims to provide teachers with a greater awareness of the evidence around supporting parents with children’s learning. We will consider, through exploration of the EEF’s Parental Engagement Guidance Report, how the evidence can provide useful guidance to solve classroom and school wide issues. Facilitator: Jane Elsworth.
