Opportunity - P4C Pilot from DECSY

DECSY is looking for 2 teachers per school, preferably secondary phase to participate in piloting teaching materials on ‘Using Philosophy for Children (P4C) to build understanding and critical thinking about extremism and terrorism for pupils aged 9 to 13’. These materials have been developed by teachers and consultants in response to the Manchester bombings and murder of Jo Cox.

DECSY is looking for 2 teachers per school, preferably secondary phase to participate in piloting teaching materials on ‘Using Philosophy for Children (P4C) to build understanding and critical thinking about extremism and terrorism for pupils aged 9 to 13’. These materials have been developed by teachers and consultants in response to the Manchester bombings and murder of Jo Cox.
Teachers must already be familiar with P4C.

The opportunty provides one day of training (20 September 2018) plus one day of in-class support by arrangement. Lesson materials cover ten weekly lessons and a half-day celebration event will be held on 20 December 2018 at the Town Hall.

No cost to the school and £200 will be given to each school as a contribution towards cover costs.
