The next Leaders' Briefing will take place on Wednesday 13 December (8:30-11:00 at the Pennine Lecture Theatre, SHU). The topics will be an update from the Regional Schools Commissioner (John Edwards) and a guide to EEF Resources for schools (James Richardson - EEF & Alex Quigley and Jane Elsworth - Huntington Research School).

Autumn 2 Leaders Briefing

Wednesday 13 December (8:30-11:00 at the Pennine Lecture Theatre, SHU).

The topics will be an update from the Regional Schools Commissioner (John Edwards) and a guide to EEF Resources for schools (James Richardson - EEF & Alex Quigley and Jane Elsworth - Huntington Research School).

John Edwards

John Edwards started his role in May 2017. Before his appointment, John was Director of Education and Skills at Manchester City Council. Earlier in his career he also worked as a mathematics teacher and senior leader in secondary schools in Yorkshire, a Principal Examiner for Mathematics, a Service Director for Schools and Lifelong Learning at Wakefield Council and Assistant Director for Learning at Kirklees Council.

James Richardson

James is a Senior Analyst at the Education Endowment Fund (EEF). He leads the Research School network and manages the Families of Schools database. James joined the EEF in September 2013 after ten years working in schools as a teacher, Head of Faculty and Assistant Headteacher. From 2009-2013 he was the Senior Researcher for the MNS Foundation in Philadelphia, USA, leading their five year study on how research evidence can contribute to creating successful school systems. He is a school governor at All Saints Academy in Cheltenham.

Alex Quigley & Jane Elsworth

Alex Quigley is an English teacher & Director of Huntington Research School in York. Jane Elsworth is a geography teacher and the Assistant Director of Huntington Research School. They are working with Learn Sheffield on the Research Led Sheffield project and will be working directly with the first two cohorts of ‘Leading Learning’ and ‘Research Lead’ training. They will also be back in Sheffield on 15 June 2018 for the Research Led Sheffield conference.
